Charles Sloan Teeple was born 10 Feb 1830 near Sloansville, Schoharie County NY. His parents were Jacob Teeple, son of John Teeple and Lana Vosseller, and his wife, Edie Crocker.

      About 1856, he moved west, settling in Darien Wisconsin and marrying Emily Enders, also from Schoharie Co. He had a business in Darien, he became its postmaster in 1865, he was elected to the state legislature in 1879 and he died 29 Nov 1881.

     Charles and Emily had four children: Kate E., Mary E., Maude E., and Charles S. who moved as a young man to Texas.
