Township, Somerset County, N.J., June 23, 1775, as Private, Captain
Ten Eyck's Company; in active service as Private under Captain
Ten Eyck, on marches to Bergen, June 8 and September 20, 1776;
on rolls as Private, Captain Ten Eyck's Company, January 1 1777,
and as Sergeant, January 17, 1777; and as Sergeant, at the battle
of Van Neste Mill, N.J., June 17, 1777; on rolls as Private, Captain
Ten Eyck's Company, August 20, 1777; in active service as Private
under Captain Sebring, stationed at Elizabethtown, N.J., beginning
September 27, 1777, with remark, 'deserted'; on rolls as Private,
Captain Ten Eyck's Company, December 17, 1777. January 1, 1778,
and June 1778; in active service as Private under Captain Ten
Eyck, stationed at Crosswicks, N.J., 20 days beginning June 19,
1778, and stationed at Westfield, N.J., October 2 to 25, 1778;
received twenty dollars pay for services in Captain Ten Eyck's
company in the year 1778; in active service as Private, Captain
Ten Eyck's Company, stationed at Springfield, N.J., June 7 to
14, 1780; on rolls of Captain Ten Eyck's Company at various times
without date, and performed various other services under Captain
Ten Eyck, without dates, such as Tory Chases, etc. Received certificate
no. 740, dated May 10, 1784, and signed by William Verbryck, for
£0:10:5, for the depreciation of his Continental pay in
the Somerset County Militia.

County Militia; enlisted in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County,
N.J., June 23, 1775; in active service on a march to Powles Hook,
Bergen County, N.J., July 8, 1776, and as a guard on the Van Veghten,
December 6, 1776.

1 to 8, 1777; on rolls, as Private, Captain Ten Eyck's Company,
August 20, 1777; in active service as private under Captain Sebring,
stationed at Elizabethtown, September 27 to October 14, 1777,
and as Private under Captain Ten Eyck's Company, stationed at
Crosswicks, 20 days beginning June 19, 1778; received $20.00 for
services as Private in Captain Ten Eyck's Company in 1778; in
active service under Captain Ten Eyck, as private, stationed at
Westfield, September 25 to October 25, 1778, and as private, stationed
at Springfield, June 19 to 26, 1780; on rolls, as Corporal, Captain
Ten Eyck's Company, without date; received £0:9:2, pay for
service as Private under Captain Sebring, stationed at Brunswick,
without date. Received certificate no 810, dated May 10, 1784,
and signed by William Verbryck, for £0:18:9, for the depreciation
of his Continental pay in the Somerset County Militia. Had service
subsequent to the Revolution as Corporal, Captain Ten Eyck's Company,
Somerset County Militia, in 1784.
Teeple, John
Ensign, Sussex County Militia, 1776; Lieutenant, Hunterdon County
Militia, 1777. There is no other record of services for this man
than the rejected pension claims given as reference. It is thought
probable that the claimants were referring to Nathaniel Temple
who was a Lieutenant in the Hunterdon County Militia. R. J. H.

Received certificate no. 777, dated May 1, 1784, and signed by
Joseph Gaston, for 0:14;2, for the depreciation of his Continental
pay for services as Private in the Sussex County Militia.
Teeple, John
Claimed service as Sergeant, 1st Regiment, Somerset County Militia
under Captains McDonald, Ten Eyck and Tunison, 1776 to 1778, to
have been at battles of Springfield, N.J., Germantown Pa., and
Monmouth, N.J., and to have served as a Teamster in the Line.
Resident of Bridgewater, Somerset county, N.J.. Born in 1760.
Resided in Schoharie County, N.Y., August 22, 1844. There is no
other record of service for this man than his own rejected pension
