Since the Teeples lived among the many Dutch of New Jersey, it is often assumed that they too were from Holland. I know that in my own family one of the early ancestors was always called The Big Dutchman. Apart from such family references, there appears to be no known documentation of a Dutch origin for the Teeples. Check out the Germany section for the evidence it lists.

     Perhaps the confusion occurs because Rotterdam in Holland was the departure port for the emigrating Germans.
